The Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management serves as a strategic leader responsible for advancing the continued vitality of the University of Minnesota (UMN) Morris through integrated recruitment, enrollment, and student success strategies. The Vice Chancellor jointly reports to the UMN Morris Chancellor (primary reporting line) and UMN Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management, as part of the enrollment management team across the five UMN campuses.

As a member of the Chancellor's campus coordination team, the Vice Chancellor leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive enrollment strategy that reflects the UMN Morris campus mission as one of the nation's premier public liberal arts and sciences college, part of a world-class university system. The Vice Chancellor works collaboratively across the institution to attract, enroll, retain, and graduate students who will thrive in UMN Morris's distinctive academic and community-engaged environment.

In an increasingly competitive and rapidly changing higher education landscape, the Vice Chancellor provides vision, leadership, and innovation in recruitment, financial aid, and data-informed planning. In collaboration with other campus units, such as marketing and communications, athletics, student life, academic affairs, and others, the Vice Chancellor champions a student-centered approach that connects enrollment management with academic excellence, access, belonging, student achievement, and institutional sustainability. The Vice Chancellor will be a member of the system-wide strategic enrollment management team and collaborate with colleagues and system offices to develop and implement integrated strategies.

The successful candidate is a strategic, mission-driven leader who can tell the UMN Morris story, build enrollment and student success strategies grounded in data, and mobilize the campus community to advance the strength and vitality of a distinctive public liberal arts and sciences university.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide visionary leadership for strategic enrollment management, financial aid, and associated student supports to support the UMN mission, strategic priorities, and long-term sustainability
  • Develop and advance an integrated enrollment strategy that aligns recruitment, financial aid, retention, persistence, and graduation initiatives to achieve institutional goals, in conjunction with enrollment marketing and communications
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, alumni, community partners, and UMN leaders to strengthen the UMN ability to attract, support, and graduate students from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Promote a culture of evidence-based decision making by leveraging data, assessment, and institutional research to inform planning, resource allocation, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with system campus enrollment leaders to ensure implementation of the UMN strategic enrollment management plan, leveraging expertise and best-practices

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an active member of the UMN Morris senior administrative team, providing direction on all aspects of enrollment management
  • Supervise staff in the offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, and One Stop
  • Work closely with the Financial Aid office to leverage financial aid awards in a manner that enhances the overall student body and expands opportunities for timely degree attainment
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications staff to advance student recruitment and retention efforts
  • Articulate and amplify the distinctive value of a public liberal arts and sciences education, while building pathways for students from rural communities, tribal nations, transfer institutions, and other key populations
  • Align recruitment, financial aid, and retention efforts into a cohesive strategy, with attention to overall student success
  • Oversee successful implementation of strategic enrollment management plan components
  • In alignment with the systemwide strategic plan, UMN Morris strategic plan, and UMN Morris strategic enrollment management plan, create strategies and initiatives that effectively support the recruitment and retention of a diverse and inclusive student body
  • Lead the institution's strategy for attracting, supporting, and graduating students in ways that sustain and advance the mission of a rural public liberal arts and sciences university
  • Exhibit and promote data-driven decision-making at the institutional and college levels in collaboration with campus-wide efforts regarding institutional effectiveness and student success
  • Serve as an active contributor to campus governance committees and represent the institution at relevant systemwide meetings
  • Participate in system-wide enrollment management leadership meetings and contribute expertise to advance overall UMN goals and priorities
  • Other responsibilities as assigned, consistent with the role

This position is required to work on campus.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree (doctoral degree preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to develop innovative enrollment strategies in response to changing demographics, student needs, and higher education market conditions, with experience or understanding the rural community context
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and institutional research to inform strategic planning, enrollment management, student success initiatives, and organizational decision-making
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the mission and value of public liberal arts education and student-centered learning
  • Demonstrated success building collaborative partnerships across academic and administrative units to achieve institutional goals
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering access, belonging, and student success for individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences
  • Progressive leadership experience in enrollment management, student success, institutional research, or related areas within higher education
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $120,000 - $142,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 100% Appointment

time, the initial pay may not reach the maximum of the range. This approach ensures
that compensation reflects the value and unique contributions of each candidate while
