Mountain West Bank is seeking an detail oriented Commecial Loan Servicing Clerk for our seasoned Loan Servicing team in beautiful Coeur d'Alene, ID. The Loan Servicing Clerk performs routine duties related to booking, assembling, scanning and verifying the accuracy of consumer and loan documentation; prepare loan documents, service and verify the servicing of booked loans. This position requires someone who is client focused and can maintain strict confidentiality in all loan matters. This individual my be thorough, and have technical capacity to preform the required tasks. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.

This position reports to the Commercial Loan Servicing Team Lead . This department is part of a team of experienced Commercial Loan Support Loan Servicing members.

This is a full-time, hourly position. Candidates must be available Monday through Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM for a total of 40 hours a week. Rate of pay depends on experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Uphold and promote the core beliefs, core values, and customer service standards that define the Mountain West Bank culture.
  • Board all types of commercial loans and process change-in-terms requests accurately and within established timelines.

  • Perform loan maintenance and research requests related to commercial loans.

  • Complete routine servicing functions, including:

    Processing loan payments

    Setting up and maintaining AFT/ACH transactions

    Waiving late fees (as appropriate)

    Correcting and reversing payments

  • Process commercial loan payoffs and complete paid loan file processing.
  • Prepare, process, and document approved collateral releases.

  • Maintain assigned pending items and filing on a weekly basis, ensuring proper follow-up on outstanding items.

  • Review commercial loan files for completeness and accuracy:

    Assemble loan files

    Identify, track, and follow up on exceptions

    Finalize and sign off on completed files

  • Maintain and follow up on weekly collateral tracking reports.

  • Research unposted, loan settlement, and outstanding general ledger (GL) items and make necessary corrections.

  • Perform quality control reviews ("check backs") on boarded loans; track errors and ensure timely corrections.

  • Complete required tasks related to HMDA LAR and CRA reporting.

  • Provide prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly service to internal and external customers.

  • Participate in community service activities as appropriate.

  • Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control


About You

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and maintain a positive, open mindset
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work efficiently under strict deadlines and meet established timelines
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with standard office equipment and technology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
  • Understanding of, or ability to learn, documentation and signature requirements for various business entities
  • Understanding of, or ability to learn, title reports and proper vesting to ensure accurate lien position

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in lending policies, procedures, and loan documentation preferred
  • Working knowledge of banking policies, procedures, programs, and regulatory requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.

Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position. We offer an extensive benefits package that includes, but is not limited to medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. PTO accruals begin at .0745 per hour worked for our part time employees up to a maximum accrual of 240 hours per year for certain Full-Time employees. PTO accruals are dependent on position, status (Full time or Part time), and years of experience in accordance with our PTO policy. Most Full-Time employees are also offered 6 paid holidays and Part Time employees are offered pro-rated paid holidays.
