What to Expect
The Lead Process Technician performs process sustaining tasks for the manufacturing line on a variety of mechanical and electrical processes. Perform supporting activities for Engineering including troubleshooting, training, and using lean manufacturing methodologies to identify areas of opportunity and implement and sustain solutions relating to scrap reduction and yield improvement. The Lead Technician is a POC on the engineering team and responsible for fostering a collaborative workplace with cross-functional teams.

What You'll Do
  • Responsible for timely and professional communication between Process, Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and Quality regarding current line limiters, troubleshooting and resource allocation
  • Perform and support in development of process sustaining tasks for the manufacturing line on a variety of automated processes to ensure process variation stays within defined control limits
  • Disposition of non-conforming materials that come from the manufacturing line, response to out-of-control process, work on yield improvement projects, and qualify new equipment and processes that are being introduced into the manufacturing line
  • Manage workload with a positive attitude as a team player in a collaborative work environment; influence, coordinate and lead other technicians and allocate their support to meet production needs
  • Write work instructions, setup workstations, maintain tools and spares, while keeping safety, ergonomics, quality, Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles
  • Develop, update, and send out daily pass downs to cross functional teams
  • Plan, execute and drive daily operations for areas of responsibility to meet daily targets and expectations in the following metrics: safety, quality of production runs, productivity / efficiency, team development and 5S

What You'll Bring
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities with minimal direction contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment, and demonstrate ability to learn new concepts quickly; comfortable in ambiguity
  • Ability to adhere to defined procedures in order to make calculated adjustments to modify process parameters on complex automated machines on the manufacturing line
  • Strong analytical skills with experience querying and analyzing data sets in order to drive RCA of yield loss and scrap excursions using SQL and Data Analysis software
  • Ability to develop processes and create of manufacturing instructions in accordance with lean six sigma methodologies
  • Ability to utilize measurement tools to analyze mechanical and electrical fundamentals of the production process and product
  • Demonstrate good understanding of OEE metrics, throughput and bottleneck analysis
  • Proficiency in applied problem solving tools such as 5 Why's, cause-effect analysis, Pareto charts, 8D's, Kaizen, etc. is a plus

Essential Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
  • Ability to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time over varied and uneven terrain
  • Frequently and repetitively, lifting 30 pounds and carrying 20 pounds up and down stairs
  • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift, reach, stoop, lay, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time
  • Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, or hearing
  • Potential exposure to confined spaces and hazardous materials
  • Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
