Responsibilities:

As a Security Supervisor, you will oversee Security Technicians in the day-to-day operation of the Security Department by preparing staff assignments, coordinating work schedules, evaluating performance, and ensuring adequate staffing coverage. In this leadership role, you will help create a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, and the community while building your career with a mission-driven healthcare organization.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Thursday or Thursday-Sunday.

Typical work hours will vary between 12:00 PM and 10:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, instruct, and supervise Security Technicians while coordinating daily security operations and shift assignments.

  • Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and completion of security patrols and assignments.

  • Review daily reports, incident reports, equipment checklists, and timekeeping records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

  • Complete and review security, investigative, pass-on, weekly, and monthly audit reports as required.

  • Support employee development by scheduling and monitoring required training, educational courses, and department meetings.

  • Assist with departmental budget management by monitoring overtime, security equipment, and supply expenditures.

  • Establish, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.

  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate employees by setting performance expectations, providing feedback, and partnering with Human Resources on personnel matters.

  • Participate in the department's on-call rotation, providing leadership support for emergencies, investigations, and staffing needs outside normal business hours.

  • Respond to, troubleshoot, and coordinate the resolution of security system alarms, malfunctions, and other issues to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) plus specialized training in security field. Associates Degree in Criminal Justice / related field or two years additional education preferred. Must have effective written and oral communication skills. Three to five years experience in healthcare security or other related experience. Must be able to perform all requirements and training of a security technician. Certification as Security Officer by a nationally recognized organization preferred.
