Job Summary
Lafayette Group is seeking an experienced professional to provide advanced consulting support for a critical federal government telecommunications program. Join our team of high-end strategy and management consultants and professionals who have served on the front lines of homeland security, law enforcement, criminal justice, emergency management, and the military.

Lafayette Group is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Telecommunications Coverage Analyst to support impactful projects for our federal clients, with a focus on providing technical and operational expertise to support broadband network coverage improvement. This role is ideal for a candidate who excels in technical analysis and assessment to support federal coverage enhancement efforts.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and operational expertise to support the federal team identifying and assessing coverage enhancement across a nationwide network comprised of Long-Term Evolution (LTE), 4th Generation (4G), and 5th Generation (5G) technologies.
  • Review mobile telecommunication coverage maps and other related documentation and statistics to determine the accuracy of coverage provided.
  • Perform various technical analyses for 3GPP 4G LTE, 5G, and other industry standard networks, including analysis on network deployment, performance, and usage data.
  • Support client engineering teams through analysis of design, deployment, launch, optimization, and performance improvement options nationwide.
  • Apply a data-informed approach using key performance indicators (KPI), RF models, field observations, issue trends, and operational metrics to identify gaps, prioritize improvements, and communicate results.
  • Apply Atoll-based modeling and RF analysis to generate RF designs grounded in real-world deployment conditions, implementation practicality, coverage objectives, and capacity needs.
  • Develop research-based, technical analysis summary reports identifying and justifying the need for coverage enhancement opportunities to support informed decision making.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Systems Engineering, Information Security, Computer Science, or other relevant disciplines
  • 15+ years of experience in wireless telecommunications and broadband networks to include, but not limited to experience with LTE, 4G, and 5G protocols, as well as related system architectures
  • Experience using industry standard software and systems to include, but not limited to: InfoVista's Planet tool, MapInfo, ESRI ArcGIS, Tableau, Microsoft Power Automate, SharePoint, and PowerApps.

  • Strong project management skills and experience
  • Experience using various data analytics tools for analysis and reporting
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust
  • Prior consulting or program support experience with federal wireless engineering/telecommunications-focused organizations

Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000

New employees are not usually hired at the top of the estimated salary range and salary decisions depend on the circumstances and factors for each case. Salary is only one aspect of LGI's generous total compensation package.
