Job Summary

The Key Account Manager - Industrial Compression Solutions is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding strategic customer relationships throughout North America. This role drives the promotion and sale of engineered industrial compressor solutions by partnering with end users, EPC firms, engineering organizations, and internal teams to identify opportunities, influence project specifications, and deliver customer-focused solutions. The successful candidate will utilize a consultative sales approach to manage complex, project-based sales cycles from opportunity identification through order execution while supporting revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and long-term account development.

Job Responsibilities




  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to support revenue growth and expand key customer relationships.



  • Build and maintain strong relationships with end users, engineering firms, consultants, and EPC organizations.



  • Identify, qualify, and manage major industrial projects throughout the sales lifecycle.



  • Promote engineered industrial compressor systems and related solutions to prospective and existing customers.



  • Deliver technical and commercial presentations tailored to customer needs.



  • Prepare and maintain accurate sales forecasts and opportunity pipelines using CRM software.



  • Collaborate with internal sales support teams to develop proposals, quotations, and customer solutions.



  • Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and project agreements.



  • Assess customer equipment requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.



  • Develop alternative solutions when standard products do not fully meet application requirements.



  • Participate in project planning, specification development, and technical discussions.



  • Support customers during equipment installation, commissioning, and aftermarket activities.



  • Coordinate with engineering, product management, finance, legal, contracts administration, and service teams to ensure successful project execution.



  • Identify technical and commercial project risks and communicate mitigation strategies.



  • Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to support product improvement initiatives.



  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through responsive communication and ongoing account management.




Job Requirements




  • Experience selling industrial equipment, engineered systems, rotating equipment, process equipment, or similar technical products required.



  • Experience managing strategic, national, or key customer accounts required.



  • Experience working with EPC firms, engineering organizations, or project-driven sales environments preferred.



  • Demonstrated success selling complex technical solutions through consultative sales processes.



  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.



  • Technical aptitude with the ability to understand industrial equipment applications.



  • Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills.



  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management abilities.



  • Proficiency with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.



  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.



  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and sales opportunities simultaneously.



  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout North America, including customer facilities, engineering offices, manufacturing locations, and industry events.




Education




  • Bachelor's degree preferred.



  • An equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant industry experience will be considered.
