DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this internship, you will join the Office of the Governor's Office of Digital Strategy in our mission to lead the Governor's online communications and Pennsylvanians' experiences online. We work in social media, influencer management, and pretty much anything having to do with the Internet. We want your ideas, concepts, and solutions! You will get a chance to experience all areas of digital strategy, from social content and design to digital services. There will be time and space to develop expertise within our internal departments. As a Digital Intern, you will learn and perform the following duties:
- Content Creation: Develop creative digital content for state social media
- Intentional Collaboration: Work with staff members to advance key communication projects
- Strategy Development: Suggest creative ideas to enhance online engagement
- Impact Discovery: Learn how digital tools and innovations support effective public communication across the Commonwealth
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- The internship is expected to run late August 2026 to December 2026.
- Intern is expected to work 20 hours per week. Scheduling will be flexible within the 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM work hours.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, depending on the needs of both the intern and the office. Some level of in-person reporting in Harrisburg is required. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements:
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Graduates from Summer of 2026 may also be considered for this program.
- Good academic standing (2.5 GPA or higher).
- Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be currently studying or have graduated with a degree in communications, advertising and marketing, electronic and digital media communication, or a similar major or degree program.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
