Each and every role throughout our organization makes a difference in our ability to change the world for the better. HDR is seeking a Solid Waste Project Manager with experience managing and performing technical work on solid waste and recycling projects in New England to join our nationally ranked team. This role is central to our strategy to expand our presence and develop new opportunities across New England, and we are seeking a candidate positioned to lead that growth. While project management will be the core responsibility, business development and client engagement will be critical to success. Travel to regional offices and client sites throughout the Northeast will be required This position supports the continued growth of HDR's solid waste program across New England by adding experienced project management leadership to the team. The role includes managing and supporting a wide array of projects spanning facility design and operations, planning, feasibility, cost estimating, capital program support, and operational monitoring across waste-to-energy facilities, material recycling facilities, landfills, transfer stations, and organics processing sites. The successful candidate will help position HDR for sustained expansion across the region and broader North American market. Primary Responsibilities The primary duties of the Solid Waste Project Manager are as follows:
- Function as a project manager or technical lead on small to large solid waste projects. May be involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently.
- Establish client relations and work closely on marketing, client development, contractual, design and production activities.
- Coordinate staffing and workload allocations throughout the project development and execution phases.
- Complete deliverables and milestones on schedule.
- Work closely with Business/Accounting Manager, Project Managers and others on project reviews and updates as required.
- Comply with and implement company QA/QC procedures.
- Provide contract management support.
- Other duties as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Supervises project staff and acts as mentor for less experienced solid waste technical staff and Project Managers.
- Work with New England Waste Sector Lead and waste client development leads to prioritize marketing targets.
- Develop marketing strategies and proposals for new and existing solid waste clients.
- Planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of solid waste engineering projects such as solid waste facilities, transfer stations, landfill and planning studies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license Experience with New England state solid waste and recycling regulations and permitting Experience with solid waste master planning and implementation of waste diversion programs Experience with organics management and organics facility design Demonstrated understanding of client relationship management and evidence of experience interacting directly with clients Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D Preference is given to Local Candidates

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- 7 years related experience
- A minimum of 2 years project management experience
- Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
