Maintenance Mechanic - JLL What this job involves:

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a vital role in ensuring the operational excellence of JLL-managed facilities by supporting the inspection, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This position contributes directly to JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional client service by maintaining building infrastructure that keeps occupants safe, comfortable, and productive. Working alongside MES Mobile Engineers and the broader operations team, you'll perform both preventive maintenance and responsive repairs while gaining valuable technical experience through JLL's comprehensive Technical Development Program. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson to advance their career with a global real estate leader.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and installed systems to ensure continuous building operations
  • Conduct facility inspections and due diligence assessments, documenting conditions that impact client occupancy and operational satisfaction
  • Maintain HVAC systems by cleaning coils, changing filters and belts, and monitoring mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for optimal performance
  • Execute general interior maintenance tasks including hanging artwork, installing office accessories, repairing furniture systems, and adjusting doors and hardware
  • Replace lighting fixtures, ballasts, and other building components throughout assigned facilities
  • Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and materials as requested to support tenant needs and building operations
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document work, track inventory, and process work orders efficiently
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience in building maintenance covering mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and work order processing
  • Familiarity with inventory management and parts ordering systems
  • Basic project coordination skills for scheduling maintenance activities and system upgrades
  • Experience coordinating with electrical, plumbing, and other building trades on integrated systems
  • Ability to explain technical issues and recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working collaboratively with property management, security, facilities teams, and external vendors
  • Background in documentation and record-keeping for maintenance logs, inspection reports, and compliance tracking
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Knowledge of proper safety protocols including lockout/tagout procedures and PPE usage
  • Physical capability to lift and move furniture and equipment, work on ladders, and perform manual tasks requiring bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation for professional interaction with tenants, contractors, and building occupants

Location: Onsite - Plymouth, MN

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (after hands-on training is completed); shift and overtime work may be required

Estimated compensation for this position:

60,800.00 - 74,600.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
