Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Merchandiser to support retail accounts by ensuring products are stocked, rotated, displayed, and maintained according to merchandising standards. This role is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, maintaining product availability and presentation, supporting sales initiatives, and building strong customer relationships across an assigned route. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment while traveling between multiple retail locations.

Job Responsibilities



  • Service assigned retail accounts by maintaining product availability, merchandising, and customer relationships.
  • Stock, rotate, and replenish products from back stock to shelves, displays, and cold storage locations.
  • Review product code dates and remove damaged, expired, or unsellable products.
  • Notify the appropriate sales representative regarding out-of-stock, damaged, or expired products requiring replacement or pickup.
  • Maintain product displays and ensure merchandise is presented according to company merchandising standards and planograms.
  • Assist with the setup and maintenance of permanent and temporary promotional displays.
  • Support sales representatives during customer visits and promotional activities.
  • Provide route coverage for sales representatives when needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of merchandising equipment, displays, and point-of-sale materials.
  • Monitor competitor activity, including new product launches and pricing changes, and communicate observations to management.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with retail customers.
  • Participate in team meetings and training as required.
  • Promote company products and maintain brand standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Previous merchandising, retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of the beverage or consumer packaged goods industry is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable personal vehicle with the minimum required insurance coverage for business use.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage an assigned route.
  • Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and a Saturday through Wednesday schedule.
  • Ability to travel between multiple retail locations throughout the assigned territory.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise as needed throughout the workday.


Education



  • High school diploma or GED required.


Work Experience



  • Previous merchandising, retail, sales, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience in the beverage or consumer packaged goods industry is a plus.
