All about the role:

The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for developing and sustaining best practices that ensure accurate, timely, and controlled management of inventory across the plant. This role leads a team focused on inventory accuracy, discrepancy resolution, and cross-functional collaboration, while driving continuous improvement in processes, reporting, and scrap handling.

Where you'll be:

This position will be based in Springfield, TN.

What you'll do:

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Inventory Control team, including Inventory Liaisons and Investigators, while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Establish, maintain, and enforce inventory control policies, procedures, standard work, and governance processes to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory transactions, reporting, and system data within JDE and other inventory management systems.

  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, variances, and transactional issues using root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Production, Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, and Warehouse teams to improve inventory accuracy and operational performance.

  • Manage scrap processing, inventory audits, cycle counts, and physical inventory activities to ensure timely execution and accurate reporting.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy, material flow optimization, labor efficiency, waste reduction, and cost savings.

  • Monitor, analyze, and report KPI performance, including inventory accuracy, adjustments, scrap, transaction compliance, and operational efficiency metrics.

  • Develop dashboards, reports, training materials, SOPs, and escalation processes using tools such as Excel and Power BI to improve visibility and process consistency.

  • Support internal and external audits, lead structured problem-solving efforts, and provide data-driven recommendations to strengthen inventory management and business performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in inventory control, manufacturing, warehouse operations, or supply chain environments.

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience with a proven ability to coach, develop, and lead high-performing teams.

  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and data analysis tools, with JD Edwards (JDE) experience preferred.

  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and lookup functions) and working knowledge of Power BI and reporting tools.

  • Demonstrated strengths in data-driven decision making, problem solving, collaboration, communication, and attention to detail in a fast-paced operational environment.
