This position is responsible for minor raw material weighing and staging, glue production, and operation of the tank farm including offloading railcars and trucks into the tank farm. Operators are expected to work with supervisors and reactor operators to complete tasks in an organized and safe manner. Additional Information: Schedule: Night Shift: Monday night to Saturday morning, 10:00 pm to 6:30 am. This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans. Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and vendors.
- Understand the use and function of all equipment/processing tools to manufacture our products
- Produce glue and compounded products to customer satisfaction and within schedule
- Follow batch instructions to prepare raw materials needed for batches including weighing and mixing
- Assist with inventory of raw materials
- Fill and monitor all bulk storage tubs; ensure that they are filled daily
- Operate polymer filtering equipment, Swecos, cannister filters and filter bags, as well as
- pumps, valves, scales and forklifts, etc. in an efficient and safe manner
- Load and unload trucks with raw materials and finished goods
- Perform assigned manufacturing tasks
- Monitor raw materials and finished goods for quality
- Organize and perform general upkeep of Load Back and Scale areas, Hot Room, Receiving Dock Ramp and all raw material areas
- Filter and package finished product to their proper container
- Unloading and loading raw material trucks, railcars, tank wagons, etc.
- Clean and dispose of empty containers in the proper manner as stipulated by Sherwin Williams/EPS
- Assist other Reactor Operators in starting batches and help with clean up
- Perform all shipping and receiving duties
- Perform all other duties assigned as needed
Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship now or in the future for employment work visa status
- Must have at least one (1) year of experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Must have prior experience working in the paint or chemical processing industry
Preferred Qualifications
- Have at least two (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution facility or in an operations environment
- Have at least one (1) year of experience dealing and monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods
- Have at least one (1) year of experience driving forklift
