Job Description
Job Duties and Responsibilities 1. Plans, organizes, manages and monitors the clinical, administrative and operational functions of nursing staff within the CCBHO. 2. Oversees activities to coordinate personnel activities to include hiring employees; coaching and counseling; evaluating employee job performance; and following the corporate guidelines for implementing corrective action as necessary. Monitors the training needs of staff through new employee orientation and ongoing departmental training. Ensures adequate and competent staffing assigned to BH CPR programs. 3. Analyzes department resources; assists in determining resources needed to ensure effective and efficient operations. Implements cost saving measures where appropriate. 4. Coordinates Performance Improvement program related to nursing duties within the CCBHO. Systematically initiates and evaluates the quality and effectiveness of practices through participation in the continuous quality improvement and monitoring process. Provides appropriate follow up regarding process and quality activities as appropriate. 5. Compiles and reports financial, statistical, and operational information utilizing various computer software products including word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software. Develops appropriate recommendations and plans based on information gathered. Submits timely, accurate, and complete reports to Director. 6. Communicates regularly with Director on issues, problems and areas of concern in a timely manner; including analysis of situation and appropriate options to address the situation. 7. Provides technical skill and clinical expertise in developing, planning, implementing and monitoring of programs, projects, or services. Acts as a resource for IT resources in the form of equipment, training and services. 8. Ensures all nursing care services comply with Practice Standards established by the Nursing Practice Council. 9. Provides a working environment conducive to the professional growth of nursing personnel and professional services personnel. Attends to professional growth through continuing education. 10. Determines competency requirements, designs and administers competency assessment tools. Participates in long-range planning. Serves as a member of the organization's management team. 11. Evaluates department safety, emergency preparedness, risk-management and quality in order to meet department and organizational goals. 12. Full accountability for ensuring that all department staff with positions requiring certifications, licensures, and/or registries are current. Additionally, ensures that in maintaining current status, Primary Source Verification (PSV) has been conducted prior to expiration on certifications, licensures, and/or registries and the formal documentation for the PSV is maintained in the department employee file. 13. Promotes quality improvement, staff and patient safety, and cultural diversity through department operations and by personal performance 14. Presents a courteous and helpful demeanor, appropriate for age, to all patients, visitors, other employees/medical staff members, or any other person an employee encounters while representing the organization. 15. Maintains current knowledge related to applicable statutes, regulations, guidelines and standards necessary to perform job duties in accordance with the requirements of the Corporate Compliance Plan. Complies with the requirements of the Code of Conduct, Corporate Compliance Plan and Compliance Policies and Procedures, including training requirements. Participates in compliance activities under the direction of the Department Manager and Corporate Compliance Officer. 16. Willingly adjusts schedule or managerial duties to provide necessary coverage across the CCBHO and maintain continuous care delivery. | |
