Responsibilities
  • Prepare parts for fluorescent penetrant inspection, including cleaning, masking, and surface preparation.
  • Process parts through the penetrant inspection line following established work instructions.
  • Ensure traceability of parts and maintain accurate production documentation.
  • Verify parts meet engineering drawings, work instructions, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the inspection area and equipment.
  • Perform daily equipment checks and assist with routine maintenance of FPI equipment.
  • Follow all NADCAP, ASTM, customer, and company quality standards.
  • Adhere to all environmental, health, and safety regulations when handling chemicals and operating equipment.
  • Report quality concerns, nonconforming material, or equipment issues to supervision.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of quality inspection techniques.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to identify defects and communicate findings clearly.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision after training.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding customer products and processes.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required. Previous manufacturing or aerospace experience preferred.
  • Experience in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) or Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain FPI Level I certification in accordance with NAS410 (or company certification requirements).
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 35 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to distinguish fluorescent indications under UV lighting.
  • Must meet vision requirements for FPI certification, including near vision and color perception, as required by NAS410.
