Position Title: Associate Quality Analyst

Work Location: Lake County, IL, 60064

Assignment Duration: 12 months (possible extension- performance based)

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, onsite, Monday & Friday Remote)

Position Summary: This is an Associate Quality Analyst I position. The Hiring Manager described it as a relatively entry-level quality analyst role focused on performing statistical analysis and data analytics on product testing data.

Background & Context: The primary responsibility of this role is to perform statistical analyses on product testing data, compile reports summarizing the analytical results, prepare charts and analyses, and deliver those reports to internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

* The work is primarily routine. The team follows established and proceduralized processes, uses the same analytical tools, and performs the same types of statistical analyses for each dataset. The standard workflow consists of receiving product testing data, performing the required analyses, generating reports, and distributing those reports to stakeholders.

* In addition to the routine workload, the team also supports ad hoc analytical requests that may require different types of analyses, as well as occasional project-related work. However, the Hiring Manager emphasized that the majority of the role follows the routine analytical process.

* The team utilizes a combination of analytical tools to perform statistical analyses. Some of these tools have been developed using Excel Visual Basic. While candidates may occasionally perform basic troubleshooting within these tools, the role does not require coding, programming, or developing analytical scripts.

* The role requires regular collaboration with stakeholders across multiple functional areas and different organizational levels. The selected candidate will routinely communicate analytical reports and results to these stakeholders.

* All selected candidates will receive formal training on the statistical analyses, analytical tools, and software applications used by the team to ensure they become comfortable performing the required work.

Qualification & Experience:

* A Science or Mathematics background is preferred; however, candidates do not necessarily need a degree in either discipline. Familiarity with statistical analysis is preferred. The role does not require a Master's-level statistician or advanced statistical expertise. * Ability to work with predefined statistical analyses and established analytical processes. Candidates are not expected to independently determine which statistical tests should be performed.

* Approximately 6 months to 2 years of relevant industry experience is preferred, with 1-2 years being the ideal experience level. Candidates who are completely new to industry or have only completed a short internship are generally not preferred.

* Experience gained through short-term industry contracts is acceptable, provided candidates have exposure to working in an industry environment.

* Candidates with significant academic research experience involving statistical analysis and data analytics may also be considered if the experience is directly relevant to the work performed in this role. * Good level of familiarity with Microsoft Excel, particularly for statistical applications and data analysis.

* Familiarity with Excel Visual Basic-based analytical tools is beneficial. While occasional troubleshooting may be required, coding, programming, or developing analytical scripts is not required.

* Familiarity with Minitab or JMP is preferred but not required. Previous experience will help candidates become productive more quickly, although training will be provided.

* Comfortable working with computerized analytical tools, with Excel being the primary application used in the role.

* Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Control Charting is considered beneficial.

* Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across multiple functional areas and different levels of the organization.

* Strong attention to detail, including the ability to review data carefully, verify personal work, cross-check the work of others, identify potential errors, and ensure data accuracy.

* Comfortable working with large datasets while maintaining accuracy and consistency. * Comfortable working in a regulated GxP environment with an appropriate level of care when handling regulated data. * Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new analytical methods, software applications, and established processes. Candidates with slightly less experience may still be considered if they demonstrate a strong ability to learn quickly.

* Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, along with experience in statistical analysis, Data Science internships, and strong Excel skills, are considered strong candidates even if their degree is not specifically in Statistics. * Candidates with more than 3 years of experience or advanced degrees (Master's or higher) are generally considered overqualified for this entry-level position.

* The selected candidate will work with large product testing datasets where every analysis and report must be carefully verified. The Hiring Manager emphasized that employees are expected to review their own work, cross-check the work of others, pay close attention to detail, identify potential errors, and ensure nothing is missed before reports are finalized.

* All work is performed within a regulated GxP environment. Because the role involves working with GxP-level data, the Hiring Manager emphasized that an appropriate level of care must always be taken when handling and analyzing the data.
