Job Type Election Workers (Seasonal) Department Elections About the Position As a Temporary Pre-Tabulation Room Attendant I, you will support the election process by physically loading, unloading, and transporting trays of early ballots on wheeled carts throughout the assigned workspace. You will also assist with organizing and storing processed affidavits for retention and audit purposes. This is a temporary positionsupporting the November General Election with an anticipated start date in October. Work With Us \| Maricopa County, AZ We Require Experience utilizing a calculator or similar device A high school diploma or GED Other Requirements Must successfully complete a background screening Must be eligible to vote in Arizona Mandatory overtime during all election cycles We Also Value One or more years of general office experience One or more years of moderate computer use experience One or more years of election experience One or more years of customer service experience Job Contributions Transports ballots on wheeled racks and carts within the room and keeps them properly organized Distributes and collects trays of early ballots to and from processing tables, ensuring each tray has complete documentation Delivers processed trays to the Quality Control area within the room, properly staging trays and paperwork Removes processed affidavits from trays reviewed by QC, verifies their accuracy, and loads ballot trays onto carts for delivery to the Ballot Tabulation Center Helps prepare processed affidavits for retention by carefully boxing and labeling them to ensure accurate auditing Organizes retention boxes in numerical order and moves them to the designated storage area Assists supervisory staff by identifying processing tables that need assistance Working Conditions Some work shift flexibility is needed based on operational needs The usual work schedule is set as 8 hours, Monday-Friday, but may require: Working holidays / weekends Occasionally working only 4 hours a day Occasionally working up to 10 hours a day May be asked to take occasional days off when business needs do not require full staffing Requires the ability to sit and stand for extended periods, to frequently lift floor-to-shoulder and/or lower from shoulder-to-waist and/or from should-to-floor up to 100 pounds and carry for 100 feet, and to push/pull a minimum of 50 pounds for a minimum of 200 feet Must not engage in any political discussion during the election Attendance and punctuality are critical Selection Procedure Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applications Candidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profile Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive Maricopa County is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants.
