Job Description

TAKE THE ROUGH EDGE OFF SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY

Every precision aerospace casting starts rough. Your work helps give it the shape, surface, and finish it needs to move forward.

As a Finisher at PCC Structurals - Carson City, you'll use hand and power tools to grind, blend, deburr, smooth, and inspect metal castings. You'll remove excess material, correct surface imperfections, and make sure each part meets the required workmanship and dimensional standards.

No aerospace finishing experience? That's okay - we'll train you! If you're comfortable using tools, enjoy hands-on work, and take pride in seeing a clear before-and-after result, this could be a great fit.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Use bench grinders, hand grinders, burr guns, drill presses, and abrasive tools to clean and finish metal castings.
  • Remove burrs, fins, excess metal, weld buildup, and other surface imperfections.
  • Blend, reshape, and smooth casting surfaces to meet blueprint and surface-finish requirements.
  • Inspect your own work for cracks, holes, distortion, non-fill, surface defects, and overall workmanship.
  • Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, feeler gages, and check fixtures.
  • Read and follow blueprints, technique cards, work instructions, and quality requirements.
  • Select the right tooling, make basic equipment adjustments, and recognize when belts, burrs, or collets need attention.
  • Accurately label and track parts while protecting product quality throughout the finishing process.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while working with your team to meet production goals.

YOU MIGHT BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU...

  • Enjoy hands-on work and are comfortable using hand and power tools.
  • Have good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Like solving small problems and figuring out how to make something look and feel right.
  • Can follow detailed instructions and work carefully within established processes.
  • Are dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working independently.
  • Have experience in manufacturing, automotive work, construction, fabrication, machining, welding, or another mechanical trade - but experience isn't required.
  • Want to learn a specialized skill in aerospace manufacturing.

BUILD A SKILL YOU CAN SEE

Finishing is more than operating a grinder. You'll learn how different tools, abrasives, casting surfaces, and measurement techniques work together to produce a part that meets exact quality requirements.

We'll provide the training. You bring mechanical curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
