Position Summary

Under the direction of the Rehab Office Supervisor, the Rehab Support Specialist serves as a central resource for rehabilitation operations. This role coordinates outpatient scheduling, supports inpatient and outpatient billing activities, assists with insurance verification and authorization processes, and helps maintain efficient office operations. The position requires professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate outpatient therapy scheduling and appointment management
• Support inpatient and outpatient billing processes
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations
• Serve as a welcoming point of contact for patients, families, providers, and insurance representatives
• Maintain accurate records while ensuring patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Assist with day-to-day office operations and administrative functions
• Collaborate with therapists, physicians, and support staff to facilitate excellent patient care
• Demonstrate proficiency in departmental core accountabilities
• Participate in ongoing professional development and process improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a busy healthcare environment
• Proficiency with computers and office software applications

Preferred

• Associate Degree
• BLS Certification
• 1-2 years of healthcare, medical office, scheduling, billing, or administrative experience
• Experience with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and healthcare billing
