Job Summary The Survey Regional Manager - RPLS provides leadership for surveying operations business growth, client development, and team performance for our Addison TX office. This role is accountable for driving strategic business development, expanding and strengthening key client relationships, and leading multidisciplinary survey teams to deliver high-quality services safely, efficiently, and profitably. The Survey Regional Manager works closely with senior leadership to align regional operations with firmwide objectives, advance market presence, and ensure consistent execution of project, financial, and talent development goals. Duties & Responsibilities
- Champions a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence across survey activities.
- Leads business development efforts, including client strategy, opportunity identification, proposal development, presentations, and relationship management.
- Builds, develops, and mentors high-performing teams of survey professionals, technicians, and field staff to support current operations and long-term growth.
- Establishes and executes strategic goals for growth, operational performance, and client service in alignment with company objectives.
- Coordinates resources and collaborates across survey groups and business units to optimize project delivery, staffing, and technical support.
- Represents the firm in client meetings, industry events, regulatory engagements, and recruiting initiatives to enhance market visibility and credibility.
- Provides leadership over project execution, staffing priorities, and operational decision-making to ensure successful delivery of regional commitments.
- Oversee development of scopes, fees, budgets, and project strategies in coordination with technical and marketing teams.
- Communicates performance, project status, and operational priorities to senior leadership and key stakeholders with clarity and consistency.
- Promotes rigorous quality assurance and quality control standards to protect project outcomes, client confidence, and firm reputation.
- Advances the firm's integrated service capabilities by positioning internal resources strategically during client and pursuit discussions.
- Drives client satisfaction and retention by fostering trusted partnerships and proactively identifying opportunities for expanded service delivery.
- Maintains a strong professional presence through active participation in industry organizations, market development efforts, and ongoing leadership development.
- Overnight travel required as business needs dictate.
Education Requirements
- Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) registration required.
Required & Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience in surveying, including at least 5 years in project or operational leadership.
- Proven success leading teams, managing business performance, and delivering results across multiple projects, clients, and operational priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, proposal strategy, contract negotiations, fee development, and budget accountability.
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to guide staff, influence decision-making, and build credibility with senior leadership, clients, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly, manage sensitive discussions professionally, and respond effectively to client needs.
- Strong business judgment, client relationship skills, and executive-level professionalism.
- Proficiency with technical software, spreadsheets, and core business applications used to support operational and project management responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through collaboration, develop talent, and foster an inclusive, high-performance team environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
- Ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization and with external partners.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, allocate resources effectively, and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to operate independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative leadership structure.
- Demonstrated consistency, sound judgment, and adaptability in meeting evolving business and client demands.
