The Opportunity with McKinstry

McKinstry is looking for a Project Accountant join our Prime MEP division in Chicago, IL. In this role, you will support operations in the timely and accurate completion of project substantiations and project audits while maintaining a high level of customer service to stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include:

Operations Support

  • Completes project substantiations on prescribed schedule based on project or client need.

  • Reviews contract language to ensure substantiation requirements are met.

  • Assists with third party Project Audits.

  • Handles confidential information appropriately.

Team Relationships

  • Works with Project Managers to mitigate project/contract compliance issues.

  • Works with a variety of internal teams to help maintain an open, effective relationship with external clients.

Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required; working knowledge of other Microsoft Office Suite products - Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook required; working knowledge of SharePoint and Adobe preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or in a related field or equivalent work experience required.

  • Two (2) years applicable work experience in Accounting or Finance required.

  • Construction accounting experience preferred.

  • One (1) year Project/contract/cost accounting experience preferred.

  • CPA/CMA preferred.

  • Experience with ERP software preferred.

The pay range for this position is $53,010 - $84,300 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
