The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Onsite Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Spring House, PA

Shift: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM

Hourly Rate: $23.00 - $24.00

What we're looking for

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, Life Sciences, or a related scientific discipline preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory management, material handling, stockroom operations, or inventory replenishment within a laboratory, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or regulated environment.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a GMP-regulated environment, with a demonstrated understanding of quality, compliance, and documentation requirements.

  • Experience supporting laboratory operations, cleanroom environments, materials management, shipping/receiving, or supply chain functions is preferred.

  • Previous experience utilizing inventory management systems, ERP platforms, or laboratory information systems to track materials, inventory, and transactions.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulated laboratory standards.

  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and customer teams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business systems; experience with SAP, Citrix, or similar inventory and procurement platforms preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Teams or other collaboration tools preferred.

  • Ability to analyze inventory trends, resolve operational issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability and willingness to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and cleanroom gowning while working in controlled environments.

  • Comfortable working within GMP cleanrooms and laboratory settings, following detailed procedures and strict contamination-control practices.

  • Ability to move materials, deliver products, and perform tasks requiring precision, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards.

  • Commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance, quality expectations, and laboratory operational excellence.

How you will thrive and create an impact

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

  • Perform GMP-compliant sanitization activities within laboratory and cleanroom environments.

  • Manage inventory of laboratory consumables, chemicals, reagents, and samples, ensuring accuracy and timely replenishment.

  • Monitor stock levels and provide inventory reporting to support uninterrupted operations.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for customers regarding inventory, materials management, and operational support.

  • Coordinate purchasing activities, including managing backorders, processing quotations, resolving invoice discrepancies, and supporting supplier communications.

  • Oversee shipping and receiving processes, including hazardous material shipments, package delivery, and preparation of shipping documentation.

  • Track chemicals, samples, and materials through Avantor and customer inventory systems.

  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and maintained in accordance with cGMP, GDP, and GxP standards.

  • Partner with customer stakeholders, purchasing teams, facility leadership, and site management to support operational needs.

  • Utilize systems such as SAP, Citrix, and other customer platforms to manage inventory, purchasing, and reporting activities.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that drive service excellence, operational efficiency, and cost savings.

  • Maintain, update, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and change control processes.

  • Deliver materials and inbound packages to laboratory personnel and designated customer contacts.

  • Consistently meet safety, quality, service, and performance objectives.
