A Brief Overview

At University Hospitals, our Medical Assistants play a vital role in creating a positive, patient-centered experience. As a Medical Assistant, you will be a key member of the care team, supporting patients throughout their visit while partnering with providers and colleagues to deliver exceptional outpatient care.

In this role, you'll combine your clinical and administrative skills to help patients feel welcomed, informed, and cared for. From rooming patients and obtaining vital signs to assisting with procedures and supporting efficient clinic operations, you'll make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve every day.

What You Will Do
  • Build positive relationships with patients and help create an outstanding experience from arrival through departure.
  • Prepare patients for their visit by collecting health information, obtaining vital signs, and documenting accurately in the electronic medical record.
  • Support providers during examinations and procedures to ensure high-quality, efficient care.
  • Help coordinate patient flow and clinic operations to keep appointments running smoothly.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and completing required patient documentation.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while promoting patient comfort, safety, and well-being.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated care.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment for patients, visitors, and team members.
