Primary Purpose
Handles moderately complex accounting activities and prepares routine financial reports. Contributes to reliable financial data that informs departmental and organizational decisions. The Corporate Financial Accounting team performs the monthend close for Sempra parent entities and Sempra's equity method investments, supporting the accuracy and reliability of the company's financial results.

Duties and Responsibilities



  • Supports multiple concurrent accounting activities and ad hoc projects, balancing priorities while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail while working under recurring close deadlines, including periodic overtime during monthend close.
  • Collaborates with internal stakeholders to gather information, resolve issues, and support crossfunctional accounting needs
  • Handles moderately complex tasks related to tracking and recording financial activities, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete within the system.
  • Reviews differences between expected and actual results, identifies key reasons for those differences, and shares meaningful observations.
  • Creates and reviews key financial reports, such as summaries of income, assets, and cash movement, and explains what the numbers mean.
  • Carefully checks financial records to ensure they match actual transactions, and looks into any inconsistencies to make sure everything lines up.
  • Prepares required paperwork, answers questions from reviewers or inspectors, and ensures all work follows company rules, professional standards, and legal requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
