Description

The Construction Licensed Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic is responsible for refrigeration and HVAC project installations, project planning and review, cost estimation, and will have over site of project budget ensuring they meet budgetary requirements. In addition, this position will be responsible for repairs and maintenance of hospital refrigeration and HVAC systems and components, ensuring heating and cooling systems are operational for Medical Center buildings. May direct the work of less skilled mechanic(s) and maintenance staff on projects as part of a collaborative team.

Required Qualifications:



  • Coursework/Training: Basic certification in HVAC from an accredited trade school
  • Upon hire: National EPA Section 608 Certification - State County City Trade License Authority
  • 10 or more years' experience in refrigeration/HVAC systems installation, servicing, and maintenance. Reading blueprints and diagrams in the construction field related to refrigeration
  • 3 years use of common and sophisticated tools and systems in an acute care facility


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Coursework/Training: Two-year trade school certificate emphasizing HVAC, electrical and building control systems
  • Coursework/Training: Successful completion of a 4-year Apprenticeship from a recognized Union emphasizing HVAC

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
