HVAC Technician

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues using specialized tools and testing instruments, such as a multimeter.



  • Troubleshoot system failures and repair or replace faulty components, such as compressors, motors, thermostats, and fans.



  • Recover, handle, and recharge refrigerants in compliance with EPA 608 certification standards.



  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to plan installations or troubleshoot equipment failures.



  • Perform routine inspections, seasonal tune-ups, and preventative maintenance on various HVAC systems to ensure they operate efficiently and safely.



  • Communicate professionally with clients to explain repair needs, maintenance recommendations, and how the system operates.



  • Document all service calls, maintenance activities, time spent, and parts used in service logs.




Requirements:




  • Proven experience working in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair (2-5 years preferred).



  • Must be able to effectively read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.



  • Must be proficient in using testing instruments, specifically a multimeter, to diagnose electrical and mechanical issues.



  • Strong understanding of the refrigeration cycle, heat transfer laws, and system diagnostics.



  • Solid electrical troubleshooting experience is highly preferred.



  • Experience with pipe bending, brazing, soldering, and piping is a strong plus.



  • Current EPA Section 608 Certification is required.



  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited HVAC training program or formal apprenticeship is preferred.
