Join the HJF Team!

HJF is seeking a Project Manager II who will be responsible for driving successful completion of key deliverables and stated objectives for projects related to Star Behavioral Health Providers (SBHP), a national training and referral initiative that is building a network of civilian community mental health providers across the 54 U.S. states and territories and an online therapist directory to support the military population, with an emphasis on National Guard (NG) members. This position is scheduled for one year with the potential for a one year extension pending funding and project status.

The Project Manager will serve as the key coordinator for an SBHP Center Designation Pilot in one state to recognize public-serving community behavioral health clinics that meet established criteria for providing high-quality, military-informed care with low- or no-cost services. The pilot will establish a foundational SBHP center designation framework for future expansion to other states. The position will also serve as the key coordinator for SBHP website-related enhancements and new functionalities, such as the development of educational videos for service members demonstrating how to use the SBHP Directory and the design and implementation of an AI conversational agent (chatbot) to guide military users through the SBHP Directory search process on the website to more efficiently identify well-matched therapists. This individual will coordinate and monitor the status of work performed by both internal staff and external partners.

This position will be in support of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences' Consortium for Defense Psychology (CDP), which is based in Bethesda, MD. The Project Manager II will assist with activities related to CDP's mission, which is to lead the development of a community of military culturally mindful and clinically competent providers through the delivery of high-quality training and education, the convening of experts, and the dissemination of research-based treatment and the latest topics in military behavioral health. The Henry M. Jackson Foundation provides administrative and management support to the Consortium. CDP strives to be the central hub for the Military Health System (MHS) in the development and implementation of training and education to clinicians in order to ensure that all service members, veterans, and their families receive quality behavioral healthcare that meets their unique needs.
