This position is responsible for collecting funds from suppliers, researching disputes of items owed, writing off uncollectible balances, holding quarterly meetings, maintaining reports and utilizing clerical assistance as appropriate.

What you'll do as an Accounts Payable Auditor Debit Bal I:

  • Communicate with suppliers and collect on debit balance owed to McLane.
  • Transfer credits to appropriate accounts as necessary.
  • Research credits posted incorrectly. Work to resolve ongoing issues.
  • Communicate with merchandising and division personnel to reconcile difference between McLane and supplier records.
  • Collect proper levels of approval to write off uncollectible balances.
  • Manage supplier accounts placed on hold in an effort to prevent future debit balances.
  • Report accounts to reserve for write off, accounts written off and collected and aged balances where
  • Central Accounts Payable is responsible.
  • Participate in quarterly debit balance meetings with merchandising so collection and write off efforts can progress at a steady pace.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications you'll bring as an Accounts Payable Auditor Debit Bal I:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new systems or applications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Two or more years' experience in administrative office or accounting or bookkeeping role.
  • Six months or more experience as a McLane Cost & Deal Auditor preferred.
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize work to meet company, department and supplier deadlines.
  • Experience in A/R credit and collections work preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
