Quality Assurance Supervisor

Purpose of Position:

This position will be responsible for assisting the Quality Assurance Manager in the supervision of the Food Safety, and Quality Assurance programs.

Accountabilities:

  • Perform/oversee quality inspections and product temperature checks for all products arriving to the port.
  • Generate and distribute quality reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure that the adequate quality is loaded.
  • Monitor and/or perform tasks on the raw product inbound inspection processes.
  • Perform periodic, daily walk through of the facility to ensure that all quality and food safety standards are being complied with, and submit corrective action request as needed to perspective departments.
  • Assist Quality Assurance Manager in performing internal, regulatory agency facility, and operational audits.
  • Train staff on all equipment calibrations, quality assurance and preventive maintenance.
  • Follow up with the concerned departments ensuring proper corrective actions are well implemented to close the findings/ Non - Conformities.
  • Special Projects as assigned.
  • Monitors inspection activities for the release of imported fruit.
  • Inspection of warehouse physical structure to ensure compliance with food safety requirements.
  • Availability to work on weekends if required.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily QA activities, ensuring proper execution of procedures an inspection coverage.
  • Ensure quality decisions, holds, releases, and non-conformances are properly documented and communicated.

Minimum Skills Required:

  • Combination of college education (from an accredited institution) and/or experience as a Quality Assurance Supervisor in a related field.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Excellent communication skills (i.e. oral and written).
  • Knowledge in HACCP.
  • Leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Take ownership and work to ensure task deadlines are met.
  • Strive for continuous improvement and provide clear, structured feedback.
  • Carry out activities related to sample collection for environmental, water, and workplace cleanliness analysis.
