Responsibilities & Expectations:

The Service Manager - Power Generation is responsible for leading standby generator and power systems field service operations at the Orlando Service Center and throughout the assigned territory. This role establishes and fosters operational efficiencies, champions continuous improvement in all aspects of service delivery, and ensures collaboration and communication across the team and division to drive business, improve efficiency, and maintain customer satisfaction.

  • Operations Leadership: Own the daily management of standby generator and power systems service operations at the branch and throughout the assigned territory, including preventative maintenance, testing, repairs, retrofits, and emergency response.
  • Business Planning: Develop and implement business plans and strategies to attain branch goals and set and achieve annual targets for service growth.
  • Customer Focus: Ensure customers' expectations for service, quality, and on-time delivery are met, maintaining close customer contact through resolution.
  • Team Direction: Direct communication with the Service Project Manager, technicians, regional staff, and service support staff; manage, coordinate, and prioritize workflow.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety procedures and regulations and maintain a safe working environment in the facility and in the field.
  • Estimating Support: Provide assistance with estimates and service projects throughout the service and service sales group, and assist in the development and standardization of work scopes.
  • Service Administration: Ensure expedient preparation and processing of all service orders, follow-up forms, and field service documents.
  • Technical & Warranty: Provide or allocate technical assistance with warranty problems and work with the warranty administrator toward resolution; allocate technical support and field resources to minimize product downtime.
  • Training & Quality: Coordinate and ensure ongoing training and required certifications for technicians, and implement the Quality Assurance Plan alongside the Power Systems Trainer.
  • Reporting: Provide weekly reports to management, raising awareness of problems and situations requiring escalation, and assess overall branch performance against branch and division objectives.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; or five years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have related experience in the generator, power generation, or a similar industry
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM systems
  • Valid driver's license and an excellent driving record
