Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that products and processes meet rigorous quality standards and comply with applicable regulations. This position will involve inspecting materials, components, and finished products to ensure quality, supporting production processes, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

As a member of the team, you will contribute to ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of our industry-leading aerospace and defense products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections and tests on incoming raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments and test equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other tools, to assess product quality.
  • Document and report inspection results, including non-conformances and deviations, using designated software and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, to investigate and resolve quality issues.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) and related documentation.
  • Participate in root cause analyses and corrective/preventative action processes to address issues and improve product quality.
  • Audit manufacturing processes to ensure adherence to established quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, reducing waste, and improving efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and compliance protocols.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in quality inspection, manufacturing, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers) and reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and standards, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with aerospace or defense manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP).

Work Environment:

  • This role may require standing for extended periods and working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Some lifting of equipment and materials up to [insert weight, e.g., 25 lbs] may be required.
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work may be necessary to meet production deadlines.
