Koch Ag & Energy Solutions (KAES) is seeking a Trade Settlement Analyst to join our Trade Settlements team in Wichita, Kansas. This role is fast-paced, dynamic, and offers the opportunity to contribute across commercial, operational, and financial processes that support global commodity trading activities.

The Trade Settlement Analyst serves as a key partner to commercial, operations, and finance teams by ensuring accurate and timely settlement of physical and financial transactions while continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes, leverage technology, and create value for the business.

To be successful in this role, you must be adaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities in an environment where business needs can change quickly. You should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrate sound judgment, communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, and be comfortable challenging existing processes to drive continuous improvement. Your demonstrated attention to detail and strong communication and organization skills will be keys to your success as you work to meet deadlines and partner with multiple stakeholders.

This role supports global operations and may require working rotating U.S. bank holidays to support businesses operating across multiple time zones.

What You Will Do

  • Execute end-to-end trade settlement activities, including invoice generation, validation, payment processing, journal entries, and exception resolution in accordance with company policies and controls.
  • Monitor settlement workflows to identify, investigate, and resolve reconciliation breaks, process exceptions, and system-related issues.
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, account analysis, close controls, and audit support.
  • Analyze large and complex data sets to identify trends, quantify risks, and support value creation opportunities.
  • Partner with commercial, operational, technology, and finance teams to resolve settlement issues, improve processes, and reduce risk.
  • Leverage digital tools, analytics, and automation to streamline the settlement function and improve its effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement by challenging the status quo, developing recommendations, and implementing sustainable solutions.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field OR 2+ years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, settlements, operations, or analytics
  • Proficiency across the Microsoft 365 suite (for example, lookup and reference formulas and multi-step formula construction in Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, or Teams)
  • Experience reconciling, validating, or investigating discrepancies in financial or transactional data (in a professional or academic setting)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in trade settlements, commodities trading, risk management, or energy/agriculture markets, including understanding of trade lifecycles, settlement controls, and reconciliation processes.
  • Experience writing SQL to query and aggregate large data sets (joins, aggregation, filtering logic).
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, Fabric, Alteryx, Snowflake, or comparable data analytics and visualization platforms, including building dashboards, reports, or data models that support business decisions.
  • Experience using Microsoft Copilot, Python, Power Automate, or other AI and automation tools to generate insights, automate manual workflows, or reduce cycle time on recurring processes.
  • Experience supporting month-end or year-end close processes in a complex business environment.
  • Experience with ERP, trading, or settlement systems.
  • Track record of process improvement - identifying a manual or error-prone process, influencing change, and implementing a sustainable solution.
