Job Purpose: To wait on tables in a timely manner, properly ring in the food and beverage items in the MICROS system and to be knowledgeable, articulate, confident, and overwhelmingly focused on the objective of helping our guests during their visit without being obtrusive.
Essential Job Functions:
* Acknowledge and greet all guests, anticipate guest needs, and respond to guest inquiries or requests.
* To properly set up restaurant and golf bays
* To have complete understanding of server standards.
* To have a complete understanding of the menu.
* To have a complete understanding of beverage service.
* To polish and clean glassware before opening hours.
* To take food and drink orders.
Accurately ring orders accordingly in the MICROS system and maintains guest tabs and facilitates payment following procedures.
* To deliver food and beverages accurately to tables and bays.
* Be friendly and helpful with all guests. Use surnames whenever possible.
* To comply with food handling standards.
* To comply with proper check closing/ cash handling/ credit card handling procedures.
* Run food and beverage in a timely manner.
To comply with applicable liquor laws. Ensures responsible service of alcohol by following all legal requirements including carding and consumption.
* Communicates with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
* Prepares dining room and work area for either opening or closing accordance with company standards.
* To properly break down entire restaurant and bays.
* To complete all assigned duties before checking out and clocking out.
* To polish & distribute all silverware.
* To comply with attendance and punctuality standards.
* Contributes to a professional workplace that maximizes employee morale, productivity, and effectiveness. Works well with a diverse FOH and BOH staff
* Responsible for knowing schedule and having any schedule changes approved by a manager.
* Performs additional responsibilities although not detailed, as requested by a manager.
* To comply with uniform standards.
Enter accurate guest counts.
Maintains full knowledge of menus, recipes, wine, liquor, beer, and any other pertinent information.
Constantly increasing knowledge of food, wine, beer, liquor and other products and services
Commitment to quality service, and food and beverage knowledge
Qualifications:
Must have effective communication skills.
Be proficient in Top Tracer Software, Open Table Software and Symphony.
Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
Must have problem solving abilities, be initiative-taking and organized.
Must be able to work under moderate supervision.
Must have an unexpired tip certification.
Always maintain a clean and professional image.
Always speaks to guests with enthusiasm.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule.
Excellent people skills and outgoing personality
Experience in a hospitality industry in similar position
Previous guest service training in a luxury resort environment
Must have knowledge of the floor plan and table numbers as outlined in training.
Physical Requirements:
This position will spend 95% of the time standing and 5% of the time sitting.
The individual must be able to transport up to fifty pounds on occasion and up to thirty-five pounds regularly.
Ability to bend and reach above head holding up to ten pounds frequently.
Possesses stamina and energy to remain active and move quickly for up to 10-hour shifts.
Ability to hear, understand and respond to guest and staff requests in a loud environment.
Working Environment:
Occasional environmental exposures to cold and heat
Must show ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
Tools & Equipment:
Must demonstrate ability to carry trays.
Operating of cappuccino and beverage machines
Knowledge and operating of the Micros System
