The mission of the Editorial team at Morningstar is to help investors meet their financial goals, and our coverage of investing and the markets is through that lens. That means putting the day-to-day noise of the markets and investing into context while informing investors about the news, trends, and opportunities that are critical to making smart decisions.

Morningstar's Editorial team publishes news about the financial markets and investing trends, along with digestible research content in the form of articles, data visualization, videos, and podcasts. Our articles run primarily on Morningstar.com, which millions of readers visit each month to help make sense of the markets, find investment advice, and manage their finances.

We're looking for a recent college journalism program graduate to play an active role in our coverage and gain experience writing market and investing articles. This is an early career role designed for someone who is interested in gaining experience reporting on financial markets and investing.

This role is based in our Park Ave South office and will require four days a week in office.

As a reporter on the Editorial Markets team, you will:

  • Help us report on key financial market and economic trends and news.
  • Report on big moves in important stocks.
  • Write articles based on Morningstar's research and data.
  • Work closely with the team's editors to hone your craft and meet deadlines.
  • Create data-driven charts and tables that tell clear stories.
  • Train in using Morningstar's extensive database of financial and investing information.

Qualifications:

  • Journalism experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in markets and business reporting.
  • Experience with MS Office suite, including knowledge of Excel and Word.
  • The ability and interest to pick up new systems and software.
  • Bachelors in Journalism or other related field.

Base Salary Compensation Range$53,929.00-$79,087.66
