Primary Purpose of the Organization:
The Temporary Staffing Pool at Fayetteville State University ( FSU) is established to provide qualified candidates for temporary, short-term, and intermittent employment opportunities across various University departments. Individuals selected from this pool may be assigned to support administrative, operational, technical, customer service, academic support, programmatic, or specialized functions based on departmental needs. Temporary assignments are designed to address staffing needs, support special projects, and ensure the continued delivery of services that advance the University's mission. Assignments may vary in scope, duration, schedule, work location, and required qualifications.
Primary Purpose of the Position:
Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support departmental operations by assisting with projects, events, programs, and special initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and databases in accordance with organizational procedures.
  • Assist with organizing and coordinating meetings, training sessions, workshops, and other activities.
  • Prepare correspondence, forms, spreadsheets, presentations, and other business documents.
  • Perform technical, operational, or program support duties as assigned by the department.
  • Assist with inventory management, supply tracking, and procurement-related activities.
  • Follow established policies, procedures, and safety guidelines while performing assigned duties.
  • Collaborate effectively with employees, supervisors, and stakeholders to meet departmental objectives.
  • Operate standard office equipment and utilize applicable software systems and technology tools.
  • Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned to support organizational needs.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education and experience may be required depending on assignment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and technology applications relevant to the assigned position.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments.

Knowledge skills and abilities:
Knowledge

  • Knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and customer service principles.
  • Knowledge of basic recordkeeping, data entry, and document management processes.
  • Knowledge of office technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and related software applications.
  • Knowledge of organizational policies, procedures, and workplace safety standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in administrative, customer service, technical, operational, or program support roles.

  • Specialized skills, certifications, or training applicable to specific assignments.
