Job Summary

The Residential Growth Manager (RGM) is responsible for driving sustainable growth across assigned residential communities. Their work begins as Optimum service becomes available in targeted growth areas and continues throughout the sales lifecycle. As the central point of coordination, the RGM connects teams, resources, and market insights around the needs of each community - creating greater synergy across our teams while helping Optimum grow and deliver a simpler, more consistent customer experience.

Responsibilities

Knowing the Community

  • Drive penetration and subscriber growth across assigned communities, using performance trends, move-in activity, and other key measures to identify gaps and determine where action is needed.
  • Document and communicate competitive activity, including fiber overbuilds, competitor offers, and new providers, and use those insights to develop competitive community growth initiatives.
  • Maintain an on-the-ground understanding of service availability, community activity, and local conditions that may impact sales execution. Flag discrepancies or readiness concerns to the appropriate teams.
  • Provide recurring updates to leadership on community performance, forecasts, competitors, and growth activity based on reporting cadences established by your direct manager.

Building the Growth Plan

  • Partner with the Business Development team to support the transition from construction readiness to local field execution. The RGM will focus on community-level penetration and engage execution teams to drive sales growth.
  • Translate community and market insights into targeted growth initiatives, aligning tactics and resources to the needs of each community.
  • Uncover key demographic and lifestyle insights, competitive activity, suggested offers, messaging, and tools to equip local engagement teams during the launch of newly serviceable communities.

Bringing the Right Teams Together

  • Maintain local relationships with HOAs, property managers, and on-site sales/leasing teams to support growth efforts and address issues that could impact brand perception or the customer experience.
  • Lead coordinated action plans with other team leaders to address community needs, performance gaps, and growth opportunities.
  • Maintain an ongoing understanding of how Direct Sales, New Build Sales, Field Services, Marketing, Events, ecommerce, and Outbound support each community. Leverage and engage each channel to drive penetration and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Partner with Marketing and Events on custom messaging, collateral, activations, grand openings, and resident engagement.
  • Maximize Optimum's visibility within assigned communities by securing available branding opportunities, including community websites, resident group pages, bulletin boards, and move-in materials.
  • Own community-level referral program performance, partnering with supporting teams to increase awareness, adoption, participation, leads, and conversion.

How Success Is Measured

  • Achievement of residential penetration targets
  • Subscriber and net-add growth
  • Growth in newly launched and underperforming communities
  • Referral program participation and conversion
  • Effectiveness of community growth initiatives
  • Response to competitive activity and market opportunities

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in account management, business development, or outside sales - telecommunications, cable, homebuilding, or real estate industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with HOAs, property management companies, builders, or developers.
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of accounts/relationships simultaneously across different stages of maturity.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; comfortable partnering across sales, marketing, and operations teams.
  • Excellent relationship-building and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Strategic mindset with ability to develop and execute account plans with minimal day-to-day oversight.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to travel within OMS territory.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
