The Wisconsin School of Business (WSB) at UW-Madison is a globally recognized business school, conductingcutting-edgeresearch and delivering market-responsive degrees.Under the supervision of theHR Manager,this role serves as the primary HR liaison for assigneddepartmentsprovidingcomprehensiveconsultationinrecruitment, compensation,titling, and workforce planningfor a variety of employment categories. This positionadvises onhuman resourcespolicies,procedures, bestpracticesand employmentlaws.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a consultative Human Resources resource and liaison. Interprets, advises on, applies and disseminates complex policies, procedures, and options to leadership and employees; and recommends best strategies according to established objectives and goals
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures for one or many various HR functions such as employee trainings, recruitments, compensation, and payroll
  • Facilitates and processes complex transactions and programs according to established policies and procedures
  • Receives and responds to inquiries in-person, via email, and through various communication mediums and relays information to appropriate entities
  • Audits human resources reports to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Contributes to the development of strategic plans and directs staff implementation of initiatives in alignment with strategic goals

Compensation:

The minimum salary for the position is $65,000. Actual starting salary will be based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
  • At leastone year of professional experience in one or more human resources areas

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience serving as an HR Business Partner or in a similar advisory role

  • Experience workingwithin a higher education institution or other complex organization.

  • Experience withWorkday.

  • Experience in developing, documenting, implementing, and improving HR-related processes.

  • Experience developing reports and analytics using various systems and software.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting toestablishand maintain effective working relationships.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required - Preferably inHuman Resources, or a related field(Communications,Psychology,Business,PublicAdministration,etc.)

  • CurrentProfessionalHR certificationpreferred
