Essential Job Duties
The Administrative Support Specialist provides administrative, financial, and patient account support that contributes to the efficient operation of Campus Health. The position supports financial and insurance-related processes, patient account functions, and day-to-day administrative operations while ensuring transactions and information are handled accurately and in accordance with university, departmental, and applicable policies and regulations.
As the Administrative Support Specialist, you will serve as a key point of contact for students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors, providing timely, accurate, and courteous assistance regarding Campus Health services, policies, procedures, and operations. You will provide responsive administrative support across financial, insurance, patient accounts, customer service, and other front desk functions as needed, helping ensure information and transactions are processed efficiently and accurately while contributing to the overall effectiveness of Campus Health.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key point of contact for students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors, providing timely, accurate, and courteous assistance regarding Campus Health services, policies, procedures, and operations.
  • Provide administrative support across financial, insurance, patient accounts, and other front desk functions.
  • Responsible for processing financial transactions, including purchase card reconciliation, small purchase vouchers, purchase order invoices, and MarketPlace orders.
  • Support insurance-related functions, including verifying and maintaining patient insurance information.
  • Provide responsive administrative support across a variety of operational needs to contribute to the overall effectiveness of Campus Health.

Qualifications




Minimum Experience/Education
High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Administrative support experience in a professional office or healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with verifying medical insurance eligibility and working with commercial health insurance plans.
  • Proficiency using financial systems to process and maintain financial information.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical records confidentiality requirements.
