Responsibilities

Summary:

This Manufacturing Engineer provides engineering and technical support for the forging, rolling, annealing, conditioning, and other value-added processing of titanium alloy products. The role identifies and implements process improvements to enhance safety, quality, yield, throughput, and cost while providing technical support to resolve manufacturing issues and improve overall process performance.

Job duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering projects focused on improving safety, quality, yield, throughput, and cost.

  • Perform root cause analysis and develop corrective actions for manufacturing and quality issues.

  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance manufacturing performance and reliability.

  • Analyze process and production data to identify trends, variation, and improvement opportunities.

  • Plan and execute process trials and experiments; analyze results and provide recommendations.

  • Research and evaluate new technologies, equipment, and process solutions; develop technical and financial justification as appropriate.

  • Develop and maintain standard work, process procedures, and other quality-related documentation.

  • Provide technical support to production employees and leadership to troubleshoot equipment and process issues.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and other departments to resolve manufacturing issues and execute improvement initiatives.

  • Prepare technical reports, project updates, data analyses, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

  • Develop and track cost savings, productivity improvements, and other financial benefits associated with engineering projects.

  • Support the implementation of new or modified processes, equipment, tooling, and technologies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline with one to three years of relevant experience; Master's degree preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to create, analyze, and interpret data.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and basic manufacturing financial concepts.

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to respond effectively to changing project and operational needs.

  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with Minitab or other statistical software and three-dimensional CAD software preferred.
