Overview
Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Junior Software Engineer in support of the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center Combatant Command, Command and Control (C2) Division (AFNWC/NCC). This is a full-time position located at Offutt AFB, NE
Responsibilities
Review, prepare, and analyze a variety of documentation: Planning, requirements, design, support, and testing. Also include source code, configuration files, and engineering resolution support.
- Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.
- Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
- Improve operations by conducting systems analysis; recommending changes in policies and procedures.
- Acquire and license software by obtaining required information from vendors; recommending purchases; testing and approving products.
- Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues
- Perform Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to ensure that developed software meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications.
- Work as a member of an agile software development team. Perform a mix of the below tasks as directed by the government team lead or engineering lead.
- Elaborate high-level feature/function descriptions into detailed technical designs and tasks, in collaboration with users and government lead engineers.
- Perform coding tasks for features/functions.
- Perform coding tasks for functional and performance tests for features/functions.
- Perform peer design and code reviews with other team members.
- Perform coding/scripting tasks for software build, packaging and deployment
- Perform other software engineering and documentation tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS w/SCI eligibility, and Nuclear Command and Control/Extremely Sensitive Information (NC2/ESI), and Alternative or Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) eligibility Certifications: None Education: High School Diploma Years of Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience to include:
- 5 years supporting the DoD
- Expertise in Information Technology and Software development, architectures, system and application requirements
- Technical Operational expertise for daily system management, troubleshooting, quality assurance, problem analysis, and resolution for hardware, software, and interfaces
Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: Sec + CE Education: Bachelor's degree Years of Experience: 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years supporting the DoD Additional Experience: Demonstrated experience supporting USSTRATCOM weapon systems and/or capabilities Additional Information Location: Offutt AFB, NE On-site/Hybrid/Remote: On-Site Travel: None
