Summary

Our summer internship is for students interested in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, and/or Estimating. Interns are assigned to a project site OR our Estimating Department. Our project sites are located in Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange and Los Angeles counties. Interns will receive the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience and guidance while establishing professional contacts in the industry.The hourly rate for this position is $20-$22.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Instill Safety as a top priority.
• Manage and support a team of construction coworkers.
• Build relationships and communicate with coworkers, owners, design partners, and subcontractors.
• Review and draft technical submittals such as schedule, shop drawings, work plans, etc.
• Monitor quality control, safety and environmental programs.
• Understand and assist with project layout.
• Identify critical work items and procure long-lead items.
• Assist with contract administration, including budget and change procedures.
• Assist with material procurement, including logistics.
• Work together to resolve field problems and conflicts with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce.
• Maintaining as-built drawings & manuals.

Experience, Education & Skills

• Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.
• Strong organizational, written, verbal and time management skills.
• Have a positive attitude and excellent self-motivational skills.
• Good attention to detail and the ability to recognize discrepancies.

Working Conditions

• Construction Site Environment - physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Exposed to high noise levels.
• Office Environment - extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally.
