Position Title: Service Foreman

Reporting to: Service Manager

Department: Service

JOB SUMMARY

The Service Foreman manages work order process for truck shop by providing first-class Customer Service. Compensation includes a competitive, team-based incentive plan based on department performance!

RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Review Work Orders





  • Act as Liaison between Service Writer and Technicians





  • Ensure paperwork is completed to Company standards





  • Supervise, mentor and lead a team of technicians





  • Work with Parts personnel to stage point-of-use parts





  • Keep track of all customer vehicles on the property





  • Address any customer concerns professionally to ensure customer satisfaction




SUPERVISORY DUTIES




  • Arrive 30 minutes prior to work shift





  • Assign work orders to technicians





  • Follow up with team on status of repairs





  • Ensure QC checks are in place and being implemented





  • Keeptechnicians on task





  • Relay completion dates and schedule to technicians





  • Maintain proper procedures within each work station





  • Fill in for technicians when necessary





  • Keep management up to date with issues/concerns





  • Ensure completion of engine check in process

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS




  • 5+ years experience repairing various makes of engines and on-highway tractors





  • Strong diagnostic skills





  • Good communications skills





  • Ability to utilize own hand, air and electrical tools





  • Abilityto consistently repair components and equipment in line with dealers and manufacturers standards





  • Ability to work independently





  • Own Basic Hand Tools





  • Supervisory experience





  • Experience with Repair Orders (creating and closing) in AS400 or like system





  • High school diploma or equivalent required, technical education in Automotive, Diesel or related technology preferred




WORK CONDITIONS

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs. It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.
