Job Description

Kearney & Company is currently seeking an Air Force Financial Management Journeyman to join our team in Dayton, OH and various other locations in the U.S. to serve as a key member of the Defense Enterprise Accounting Management System (DEAMS) Deployment and Training Team in support of Data Visualization. The successful candidate will provide intermediate-level support for the deployment, sustainment, and user training of financial data visualization tools (primarily dashboards) at Department of Air Force installations. This role works closely with senior financial managers and dashboard teams to integrate, update, and troubleshoot dashboard solutions, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and empower end users through advanced training and support. The Journeyman is expected to exercise independent judgment, mentor junior staff, and contribute to process improvements. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead or assist in the deployment and installation of Command-specific dashboards at Department of Air Force installations, including making necessary modifications for local requirements
  • Oversee daily sustainment and updates of dashboard capabilities, integrating multiple data sources and maintaining existing FMFO products
  • Provide advanced user support and troubleshooting for dashboard and Power BI tools, including resolving complex user inquiries and documenting issues
  • Conduct and facilitate training sessions for installation users, develop and update training materials, and mentor junior team members
  • Gather, analyze, and document user feedback to identify training needs, system issues, and opportunities for improvement
  • Support data extraction, validation, and integration efforts to ensure dashboards reflect accurate and complete financial information
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, security requirements, and government policies
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and user guides for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and recommend enhancements to dashboard functionality and user experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in financial management, data analytics, or dashboard support
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI or similar data visualization tools
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Demonstrated customer service and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with some leadership or mentoring experience
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality control
  • Must be willing and able to travel as required, up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance (requires US Citizenship)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in DoD FM processes and procedures for posting accounting entries
  • Familiarity with AF Financial Management and financial data elements
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, or High bond

The expected salary range for this position is between $69,000 and $105,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law. This position is eligible for bonuses (when applicable).
