The Business Banking Relationship Manager II is responsible for developing and managing business banking relationships through the delivery of lending, treasury, and financial solutions tailored to client needs. This role drives new business development, portfolio growth, risk management, and client satisfaction for businesses with annual revenues up to $5 million while partnering across the organization to deliver a seamless client experience. Other duties as assigned. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, expand, and maintain relationships with business banking clients and prospects to support their financial needs and achieve business growth objectives.
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, market development activities, referral generation, and relationship-building efforts.
- Identify client opportunities and assess financial needs to deliver tailored lending, deposit, treasury management, and other financial solutions.
- Manage an assigned portfolio of business banking relationships while maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction, retention, and portfolio growth.
- Partner with internal specialists and business partners to provide comprehensive financial solutions and enhance the overall client experience.
- Coordinate with underwriting, treasury management, wealth management, retail banking, operations, and other internal teams to support client acquisition, servicing, and issue resolution.
- Ensure proper loan structuring and adherence to established credit, risk, and lending policies while supporting sound risk management practices.
- Monitor portfolio performance, including past dues, exceptions, covenant compliance, renewals, and overall credit quality.
- Maintain an active pipeline of borrowing and non-borrowing opportunities and effectively manage sales activities to achieve established business goals.
- Cross-sell appropriate bank products and services by identifying opportunities that align with client needs and financial objectives.
- Maintain strong community involvement and professional networks to increase market presence and generate business development opportunities.
- Assist in coaching and sharing knowledge with less experienced team members as appropriate.
- Remain current on all applicable banking regulations, compliance requirements, policies, procedures, and training requirements.
- Perform assigned responsibilities in compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
Reporting Relationship Reports to the Business Banking Leader. Qualifications Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Typically requires 5 to 6 or more years of business banking, commercial lending, relationship management, or related financial services experience.
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced knowledge of business banking products, services, lending practices, treasury management solutions, and relationship management principles.
- Demonstrated ability to identify client needs and deliver tailored financial solutions.
- Strong sales, business development, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal partners and product specialists.
- Experience managing difficult and complex situations while exercising sound judgment.
Required Certifications/Licenses
- May require obtaining and/or maintaining NMLS registration.
Salary offered will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This position is also eligible to participate in either an applicable incentive compensation plan for the position or a discretionary profit sharing bonus program.
