Responsibilities

Brand and Identity

  • Establish TISTA's visual identity and branding standards and maintain them as the single authority on how the brand is applied.
  • Ensure TISTA branding is streamlined and consistent through all communication channels and platforms.
  • Develop the marketing communications toolkit templates, brand guidelines, and best practices so other teams can produce on-brand work.

Marketing Strategy, Campaigns, and Market Presence

  • Establish marketing communications strategy for TISTA's brand and market-facing campaigns, ensuring consistent messaging to external stakeholders and alignment with the enterprise communications plan.
  • Create and manage all marketing materials and collateral, on brand and on deadline.
  • Prepare promotional material to support events trade shows, conferences, and industry gatherings including booth presence.
  • Implement campaigns and track their effectiveness, making course corrections as required.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of brand-related PR initiatives and reputation management, in coordination with the Communications Manager.
  • Develop, support, research, and create content across TISTA's website and digital platforms as well as across other industry platforms (LinkedIn, YouTube, OrangeSlices and others).

Creative Production and Editorial Quality

  • Create, design, draft, and edit written and visual deliverables, and provide quality assurance on all deliverables.
  • Produce executive-level presentations and memoranda, including the graphics and narrative that carry them.

Standards, SOPs, and the Marketing Library

  • Create and maintain Marketing Communications Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Build, maintain, and manage the marketing communications library briefings, promotional material, website and imagery assets across TISTA's SharePoint sites.

Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination

  • Solicit communications and marketing input from stakeholders across technical and business disciplines vertically and horizontally, from program managers to executive leadership and translate it into common, plain messaging.
  • Work with program managers to draft messaging and presentations for their programs.
  • Attend meetings with stakeholders to find creative solutions to complex problems; research and create the content that results.
  • Engage other internal teams communications, quality, strategic to gain required approval on content and accuracy.
  • Maintain the marketing communications components of the enterprise communications plan, and complete projects in coordination with the Communications Manager and all interested parties.

What Success Looks Like in the First Year

  • Developed and executed collaborative company Marketing and Branding Plan.
  • A documented brand standard and a working toolkit that other teams actually use.
  • Develop schedules for events, work with stakeholders, and build out marketing materials and collateral within proposed cycles.
  • TISTA's conference presence, website, and collateral read as one company.
  • Establish OKRs measuring and tracking campaign performance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of related marketing communications experience, including at least 3 years proofreading and editing all facets of corporate communications.
  • A self-starter who takes the initiative to ensure business goals are met and exceeded.
  • Expert-level PowerPoint: multiple masters, color themes, animations, actions, and video. A portfolio demonstrating this is required.
  • Expert skills in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Adobe Creative Cloud specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere Pro
  • Working knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements for content creation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with executive-level presentations and memoranda.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills; creativity and the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, independently, and as a team member.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to deal with ambiguity in day-to-day operations.
  • Good judgment in handling confidential and sensitive issues.
  • Ability to obtain an MBI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Federal contracting or GovCon marketing experience.
  • Certifications in areas to support marketing and branding functional areas such as Sharepoint, web design/management, Photoshop etc.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, English/Journalism, or a related field or equivalent experience.

Location:

  • Hybrid - Austin, TX or the Washington, DC metro area (DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia).

Travel:

  • Approximately 15% primarily industry conferences and TISTA related events.

Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain a Moderate Background Investigation (MBI).

Pay Range:

  • The pay for this position ranges from $130,000 to $145,000.
  • The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
  • Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
