We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago, IL for an Insurance Assistant II (Hybrid) on our Insurance Administrative team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.

As an Insurance Assistant II, you will provide assistance to the Administrative Operations Department in order to maintain timely handling and processing of applications, enrollments, checks, claims, and incoming mail.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Customer Service, Claims and New Business Teams Support

• Assist the new business team with updating applications based on underwriting decisions
• Enter paper application information into policy administration system
• Scan/image claim checks and documents
• Complete pre-claim work on paper claims
• Route work items to appropriate team/team members
• Complete data entry such as address changes, etc.
• Print and send outbound correspondence including: applications, ID cards and other documents

AMAI Mail and Correspondence

• Collect incoming AMAI mail and sort and route to appropriate recipients
• Front-end and back-end scan documents
• Return mail/checks
• Refund checks
• Premium payment for accounting
• Other correspondence

Administrative Support

• Complete Legal and Finance Teams with administrative tasks
• Organize and retain vendor licenses

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

1. High school diploma required
2. 2+ years of administrative experience required; experience in the field of insurance preferred
3. Microsoft software suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) skills preferred
4. Strong attention to detail required
5. Prior experience with scanning or imaging systems and data entry
6. Dependable
7. Demonstrated ability to work well under tight deadline pressure and manage competing deadline
8. Strong verbal and writing skills to communicate internally and with customers

This role is a non-exempt position, and the hourly range for this position is $23.63-$30.83. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
