Position Overview



The Junior Talent Acquisition (TA) Specialist supports company full life cycle recruiting processes while developing the knowledge and experience necessary to independently manage recruiting requirements. The position works closely with experienced Talent Acquisition staff to source, screen, engage, and coordinate qualified candidates in support of current contracts, corporate requirements, and proposal efforts.



The Junior Talent Acquisition Specialist duties include, but are not limited to:



Active Recruiting




  • Works with TA Leads and hiring managers to understand job and position requirements.
  • Creates and administers internal and external job postings as assigned.
  • Performs electronic searches and proactive sourcing for qualified applicants using approved recruiting tools and networks.
  • Screens resumes and conducts initial candidate screening calls against established requirements.
  • Coordinates interviews and maintains timely candidate correspondence throughout the recruiting process.
  • Builds and maintains candidate pipelines through web searches, referrals, job fairs, networking, and other sourcing methods.
  • Maintains accurate candidate status, notes, and dispositions in the ATS.
  • Assists with professional reference checks, compensation discussions, offer coordination, and start-date scheduling under guidance from senior TA staff.
  • Participates in recruiting and marketing events as assigned.



Onboarding Support




  • Coordinates required new-hire information with Security, Human Capital, Payroll, Contracts, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Assists with collection and routing of onboarding documentation as needed.



Proposal Support




  • Assists with proposal recruiting activities, including candidate sourcing, screening, resume collection, Letters of Intent (LOIs), contingent offers, and required security documentation.



General




  • Participates in training and development activities to build knowledge of government contracting, clearance requirements, labor categories, and company recruiting processes.
  • Provides recruiting support as assigned by the TA Lead, TA Manager, or Director of Talent Acquisition.

Qualifications

Required Skills (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)




  • Demonstrated knowledge of full life cycle recruiting processes and practices.
  • Relevant DoD and/or government contracting recruiting experience preferred.
  • Experience recruiting cleared, Information Systems Security, Cyber Security, Physical Security, technical, or other mission-focused professionals preferred.
  • Ability to constructively engage and resolve challenging situations.
  • Independent self-starter who is proactive, organized, and professionally assertive.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and recruiting/Applicant Tracking System tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Available to work before/after typical office hours as business needs may require.



Years of Experience/Education Requirements




  • 0-2 years of recruiting, sourcing, staffing, human resources, or related experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.



Clearance




  • No clearance required upon hire.
  • Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance if required.



Travel




  • Occasional local and nationwide travel. Anticipated up to 10%.
