The Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science is dedicated to creating and promoting public health innovations to advance equity, justice, and wellbeing for all. The School focuses on health, diversity, inclusion, and social equity in everything we do. In working to fulfill that vision, we are comprised of more than 125 primary appointed faculty and academics, 150 staff members, and 25 secondary appointed faculty and provide mentorship and instruction to 900+ BSPH undergraduate major students and 225 postgraduate students across six degree programs as well as a clinical residency. We conduct research and instruction in public health disciplines such as Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Climate & Environmental Health, Community Health Services & Preventive Medicine, Epidemiology, Global Health, Health Behavior, Health Equity & Justice, Health Policy, Public Mental Health & Substance Use, and Technology & Precision Health, totaling ~$255M in grants and contracts and housing five research service cores. We engage in research and teaching collaborations across the University and the community at-large. Partnerships with the community and with health agencies are fundamental to the School.

The Research Data Analyst possesses basic knowledge of public health, statistics, and data management principles. Under close supervision and guidance from faculty and senior research staff, the Research Data Analyst provides support for research projects by performing routine data management and data quality activities. Responsibilities include maintaining databases, conducting data entry and verification, cleaning datasets according to established procedures, and assisting with data organization and documentation.

The Research Data Analyst assists with compiling data and preparing standard reports, tables, charts, and graphs for research studies. Using established statistical software applications such as SAS, R, Stata, or JMP, the incumbent runs predefined programs and produces routine summaries under direction. The position assists with quality control reviews of data, supports the creation of basic calculated variables, and helps ensure data accuracy and completeness.

The Research Data Analyst conducts literature searches and summarizes findings for research staff, assists with preparing research materials and study documentation, and supports the presentation of research results. The incumbent provides routine assistance to faculty, staff, students, and trainees in locating and accessing research data and resources. Work is performed following established research protocols, procedures, and guidelines, with methods and priorities determined by faculty and senior research personnel.

Under direct supervision, acquires skills and knowledge of professional concepts in research data analysis. Works on small projects or segments of projects with limited scope and complexity.

• Four (4) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area.

• Acquiring knowledge of research function. Acquiring ability to perform research analysis duties.

• Acquiring statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design skills to perform research analysis duties.

• Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline.

• Basic consultation and communication skills.

• Ability to communicate results to scientists and to others. Knowledge of data analysis pipelines that clean, analyze, and output data in ways that are optimized to reduce error and support reproducible science.

• Experience with analysis software such as SAS, R, Stata, and JMP.

• Experience in basic research analysis protocol, results, and conclusion writeups.
