Position Responsibilities

  • * Lead the strategy, development, administration, and ongoing evolution of Scripps' total compensation programs, including base pay and incentive compensation, to ensure market competitiveness, internal equity, and alignment with the organization's overall total rewards philosophy.

  • * Ensure compensation programs are fair, equitable, and consistently administered, with clear and effective communication strategies that promote employee and leader understanding, transparency, and confidence in Scripps' compensation practices.

  • * Partner with senior executive leadership and key stakeholders to proactively support Scripps' strategic priorities through the research, design, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of compensation and rewards programs.

  • * Provide strategic consultation and recommendations to senior executive management on complex compensation matters, including potential conflicts or inconsistencies with Scripps' total rewards philosophy, compensation strategy, and organizational objectives.

  • * Establish and maintain effective governance, processes, and systems that enable leaders, managers, and employees to effectively manage and understand total compensation programs within Scripps' non-unionized workforce environment.

  • * Provide strategic oversight of HR systems and data integrity, ensuring accurate, timely, secure, and reliable employee and compensation data. Oversee reporting and analytics requirements for internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory and government agencies.

  • * Drive HR technology and process improvements across systems and workflows where employee, compensation, and organizational data is accessed, maintained, analyzed, or utilized, with a strong focus on efficiency, scalability, data integrity, and the employee and leader experience.

  • * Provide leadership and strategic partnership in the implementation of a new EHR and related technology solutions, ensuring compensation, employee data, reporting, and HR processes are effectively integrated and supported through this significant organizational transformation.

  • * Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy, security, regulatory, and organizational requirements related to employee and compensation information, while maintaining appropriate controls and governance across HR systems.

  • * Identify opportunities to leverage technology, data, and analytics to enhance compensation decision-making, improve operational effectiveness, and strengthen the overall delivery of Scripps' total rewards programs.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 10 years experience in Human Resources, 5 of which in a Human Resources leadership role.

  • Excellent written, verbal and group presentation communication skills.

  • Experience leading and coordinating multiple large, complex, and politically sensitive projects and leading work teams.

  • Experience consulting with and influencing decisions with Executive leadership.

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • Master's degree, CCP, and/or SPHR certification.

  • Healthcare experience highly preferred.

  • Experience reviewing union contracts for compensation practices.

  • ERP implementation experience.
