Bilingual Student Employee for Physical Therapy

Applications are invited for a part-time, two-semester student position with the University of New Mexico (UNM) Division of Physical Therapy. The selected student must be currently enrolled at UNM and available during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 academic semesters.

The student will work with the Division of Physical Therapy's REACH Pro Bono Clinic, which provides physical therapy services to community members who are unable to access physical therapy due to financial barriers.

The successful applicant should be Spanish-language proficient at a minimum conversational level, collaborative, dependable, and comfortable working with technology. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Google Drive, Google Voice, and OneDrive is preferred.

The position is currently anticipated to be 10 hours per week. Additional hours may be available for office administrative duties, including filing, copying, data entry, and other program support as needed.

Work-Study Responsibilities

• Contact REACH Clinic participants by phone or text to schedule appointments, including communicating with Spanish-speaking-only participants.
• Make reminder calls or send reminder messages to REACH Clinic participants regarding upcoming appointments.
• Confirm that REACH Clinic participants have received and confirmed their appointment information.
• Assist with filling last-minute appointment cancellations to help maintain clinic scheduling and maximize available appointment slots.
• Create and maintain the REACH Clinic clinician schedule to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient use of clinic appointments.

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

• University student enrolled during the Fall 2026 semester and expected to remain enrolled during the Spring 2027 semester
• Spanish-speaking, at least at a conversational level
• Available to work Thursday evenings from 2:30-8:00 p.m.

• Previous experience with medical interpretation and/or appointment scheduling
