Summary/Purpose of the Position:

Organizes, coordinates, and supervises employees and activities within the Value-Added Services division to ensure an effective and efficient operation that meets safety, quality, and production standards.

Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:



  • Provide direct supervision to assigned operations employees (regular full-time and contingent) through leadership, coaching, training, development, allocating work assignments, review of progress in achieving objectives, and performance appraisals.
  • Strive towards continuous improvement in accordance with divisional and corporate strategic direction and initiatives.
  • Foster and lead a "Quality First" environment.
  • Develop, communicate, and implement ERP best practice doctrine.
  • Train and oversee production personnel usage of ERP system throughout the site.
  • Work closely with inter-department heads (Customer Service, Warehouse and Sales/Engineering) to meet customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Sales Team on New Product Introductions (NPIs)
  • Participate in audits, both internal and external, when necessary.
  • Support and assist VAS Management as needed.
  • Directly or indirectly responsible for product quality
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:



  • College degree preferred or equivalent supervisory experience in the industrial distribution or manufacturing industry
  • 2+ years supervisory/operations management experience
  • Commitment to safety
  • Ability to supervise diverse work groups in a team environment using effective listening, coaching, training, investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of ISO/Quality System and Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Proficiency in MS Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with customer manufacturing industry and its unique needs for creating and maintaining a competitive advantage
  • First Aid/CPR/AED


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently
  • Visual acuity (including corrective vision) to read instructions, operate machinery, and visually inspect parts produced.
  • Ability to wear proper safety equipment at all times.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb.
